terms of use.
v1.2 · updated 7 november 2026
1. These terms
1.1 Ticketway is operated by Ticketway Entertainment Private Limited, a private limited company with its registered office in Mumbai, Maharashtra ("Ticketway", "we", "us"). Customer care: support@ticketway.in, or You → Help in the guest app. Our Grievance Officer's details are on the Grievance Redressal page.
1.2 These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Ticketway. You accept them by signing in, booking or using a Ticket. If you do not accept them, do not use Ticketway.
1.3 We may change these Terms. We will tell you of a material change in the app or by SMS at least 7 days before it applies, unless the law requires it sooner. A change does not apply to a Booking made before it takes effect. We will remind you of these Terms and our Privacy Policy at least once every three months.
2. Definitions
2.1 In these Terms:
- Host means the organiser who runs a Listing and sells its Tickets, named on the Listing.
- Listing means an event, an activity at set times, or a court, turf, boat, room or other facility hired by the hour, offered on Ticketway.
- Ticket means a right of admission or a booking for a Listing, including a slot booking and a booking of one or more hours.
- Ticket Price means the price the Host sets for a Ticket, including the Host's GST.
- Convenience Fee means Ticketway's fee for its own service to you, charged on top of the Ticket Price where the Listing has one.
- Booking means one order of one or more Tickets.
- Device means the phone or browser on which you most recently signed in.
3. What Ticketway does
3.1 We are a marketplace. Ticketway is an online marketplace. Hosts are independent businesses that list and sell Tickets on Ticketway. We are not the Host of any Listing unless the Listing says so. We review Listings against our rules before they go live. A review is not a promise that a Listing is accurate: the Host writes it and is responsible for it, except for words Ticketway itself adds or changes.
3.2 Your contract for the Listing is with the Host. When you buy a Ticket, you contract with the Host for admission. The Host is responsible for the Listing, the venue, safety, what the Ticket includes and admission. Each Listing shows the Host's name and any terms of the Host, which also apply to you. If the Host's terms conflict with these Terms or with your rights under law, these Terms and the law prevail.
3.3 Our service to you is the app and website, search and discovery, checkout and payment, your Tickets, sending Tickets to friends, refunds where these Terms provide for them, and customer care. The Convenience Fee, where charged, is for this service.
3.4 How listings are ordered. Discover shows Listings for the city you choose, narrowed by kind, category and date. Within each row, Listings are ordered by when they take place or next have a time free. We do not accept payment for placement. If we ever show paid placements, we will label them.
3.5 Availability. "Only N left" shows the exact number of a ticket type still on sale through Ticketway, when fewer than 50 remain. "Selling fast" shows once 60% of a Listing's tickets are sold. "Sold out" shows when none of a ticket type remains on sale through Ticketway, or the Host has stopped selling it. These rules apply to every Listing alike.
4. Your account
4.1 Age. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, make a Booking or receive a Ticket. A person under 18 may attend a Listing whose age rule allows them only on a Ticket held by their parent or lawful guardian, who is responsible for them and accompanies them unless the Listing says otherwise.
4.2 Sign-in. You sign in with your own mobile number and a one-time code sent to it, or with your Apple or Google account. Your mobile number is verified once, with a one-time code, whichever way you sign in. You must keep your phone, your codes and your Apple or Google account secure. You are responsible for activity on your account that you allow, or that results from your not keeping them secure, until you tell us it has been misused.
4.3 Accurate information. You must give your real name and a working email address before your first Booking. If you sign in with Apple or Google, the name and email address they share with us are used unless you change them. Any Instagram username you add must be your own. We may ask you to verify your identity where we suspect fraud; if you do not within 48 hours of our asking, we may cancel the Bookings concerned under clause 6 of the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
4.4 One Device. Your Tickets are held on your Device. Signing in on a new phone or browser moves your active Tickets to it and signs out the previous Device.
4.5 Closing your account. You may close your account once you hold no Tickets for Listings still to take place. We retain records as our Privacy Policy states.
5. Prices and payment
5.1 Ticket Prices are set by Hosts and include the Host's GST.
5.2 Convenience Fee. Where a Listing carries a Convenience Fee, checkout shows the Ticket Price, the Convenience Fee, the GST on it at 18% and the total before you pay. You pay the total shown.
5.3 Holds. Starting checkout reserves your Tickets for 10 minutes. If payment is not completed in that time, the Tickets are released. If your payment is confirmed after the hold ends and the Tickets are no longer available, no Booking is made and we refund the full amount to your payment instrument within 1 Business Day.
5.4 Payment. Payments are processed by our payment partner, an RBI-authorised payment aggregator (currently Easebuzz). We do not receive or store your full card number, CVV or UPI PIN. A Booking is confirmed only when our payment partner confirms the payment to us. If you are charged but the Booking is not confirmed, the amount is reversed to you within the time set by the Reserve Bank of India for failed transactions.
5.5 Limits. A Booking may contain Tickets for up to 10 people, and for an activity, no more than the most people the Host allows in one booking. A Host may set the most Tickets of a type one person may buy for an event. Limits apply per person, phone number, device and payment instrument.
5.6 Waiting room. For high-demand on-sales we may use a waiting room. Everyone in it at the start time is placed in a random order, and later arrivals join the end. A place in the waiting room is not a Ticket.
5.7 Errors. If a Listing shows an obvious error in price or material details, we or the Host may cancel the affected Bookings and refund them in full, including the Convenience Fee.
5.8 Business Day means a day other than a Sunday or a public holiday on which banks are open in Mumbai.
6. Your Tickets
6.1 Showing your Ticket. A Ticket is shown as a code in the Ticketway app or on the Ticketway website, on your Device. Keep your code private: anyone with a copy of it may be able to use it.
6.2 No resale. A Ticket is a personal licence from the Host, revocable only as these Terms state. You must not sell, auction or advertise a Ticket for more than you paid for it, sell Tickets as a business, or buy a Ticket to resell it, on Ticketway or elsewhere. Tickets bought from anyone other than Ticketway, the Host or a friend who sent them through Ticketway may not admit you. A Ticket bought or offered in breach of this clause may be cancelled under clause 6 of the Refund and Cancellation Policy, and its holder refused admission.
6.3 Sending to a friend. Where the Host allows it for a ticket type, you may send a Ticket to another person aged 18 or over from the app. The Ticket moves to that person's phone number with a new code, and the previous code stops working. Sending is final and cannot be reversed. A Ticket may be sent only once, and not after it has been scanned or the Listing has ended. You may send no more than 10 Tickets an hour. You may recover from the recipient no more than you paid for that Ticket, including its share of the Convenience Fee. A refund of a sent Ticket is paid to the buyer's payment instrument, not to the recipient.
6.4 Finding your Ticket at the gate. If your app will not open, door staff can find your Ticket using a one-time code sent to your phone, or, if the code cannot reach you, an owner or manager of the Host's team can check your photo identification against the name on the Ticket.
6.5 Scans. Unless the Listing says otherwise, a Ticket admits once, and the first scan at any entrance is the one that counts. Passes and bookings by the hour admit as their Listing states. If your code was scanned before you arrived because you shared, sold or showed it, you are not entitled to admission or a refund. If it was scanned because of a fault of Ticketway or the Host, you are refunded in full.
6.6 Named Tickets. For a Listing that says so, a Ticket is valid only for the person named on it, and the Host may ask for photo identification in that name at entry.
7. At the Listing
7.1 Admission. The Host may refuse admission, or require you to leave, under the rules shown on the Listing and the law, including where you do not meet the age rule or cannot show identification when asked, are intoxicated, carry prohibited items, or behave unsafely or unlawfully. You are not entitled to a refund if you are refused admission or removed for any of these reasons.
7.2 Identification. Bring government-issued photo identification if the Listing asks for it. The Host checks ages; Ticketway does not.
7.3 Timing. Gates, session and booking times are shown on the Listing and your Ticket. You are not entitled to a refund if you arrive after your Ticket has stopped being valid.
7.4 Safety. Follow the Host's and the venue's safety instructions. Nothing in these Terms or the Host's terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
7.5 Photography. Where the Listing states that the Listing will be photographed or filmed, you agree, by attending, that you may appear in the photographs or recordings.
8. Refunds
8.1 Tickets are not refundable on a change of mind. You are refunded where the Host cancels, where the Host refunds you, for 7 days after a date change, and where the law requires. Refunds through Ticketway close when the Host is paid for an event (never earlier than 24 hours after it ends, so ask within 24 hours after it ends), when a slot ends, or when an hourly booking starts, unless the Listing did not take place. The full rules are in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
8.2 Refunds are made only to the payment instrument used for the Booking.
9. Your passport
9.1 Your passport records a stamp for each day you are admitted to a Listing. It is a record only. It is not a Ticket, a reward programme or a promise of any benefit, and we may change how it works.
10. Prohibited conduct
10.1 You must not:
- (a) use bots, scripts, automated tools or multiple accounts to obtain Tickets, gain a place in a queue or evade limits;
- (b) copy, forge, alter or share a Ticket's code with anyone other than a person attending with you, or attempt entry with a code that is not yours;
- (c) resell Tickets, or buy Tickets to resell, in breach of clause 6.2;
- (d) use another person's phone number, payment instrument or identity;
- (e) raise a chargeback or payment dispute for a Booking on which anyone was admitted, or that we have refunded;
- (f) let another person sign in to your account or hold your Tickets on their Device, or use another person's account;
- (g) interfere with, reverse-engineer, scrape, overload or probe the security of the app, website or any interface, except as the law expressly permits;
- (h) harass, threaten or abuse any Host, door staff, other guest or member of our team; or
- (i) host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update or share, through any part of Ticketway, any information that:
- (i) belongs to another person and to which you have no right;
- (ii) is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy including bodily privacy, insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, racially or ethnically objectionable, relating to or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or an online game that is not permitted under law, or otherwise inconsistent with or contrary to the laws in force;
- (iii) is harmful to children;
- (iv) infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
- (v) deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of the message, or knowingly and intentionally communicates any misinformation or information that is patently false and untrue or misleading in nature;
- (vi) impersonates another person;
- (vii) threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States, or public order, or causes incitement to the commission of any cognisable offence, or prevents investigation of any offence, or is insulting to any other nation;
- (viii) contains a software virus or any other computer code, file or program designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource;
- (ix) is synthetically generated information that is not labelled as such; or
- (x) violates any law for the time being in force.
10.2 If you breach this clause, we may cancel your Tickets under clause 6 of the Refund and Cancellation Policy, block sending, suspend or close your account, refuse new Bookings, remove information and report the matter to the police or other authorities. Refunds for Listings that are cancelled are always paid.
11. Liability
11.1 The Host is responsible for the Listing. Claims about the Listing itself (its content, conduct, changes, venue, safety or what a Ticket includes) are against the Host. We will help you contact the Host and will pass on your complaint.
11.2 Our responsibility. We are responsible for providing our own service with reasonable care and skill, for making refunds these Terms or the law require us to make, and for the obligations the law places on a marketplace.
11.3 Limit. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you in connection with any Booking is limited to the amount you paid for that Booking, including the Convenience Fee. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for travel, accommodation or other costs you incur in connection with a Listing. This clause does not limit our liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, any liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
11.4 Events beyond our control. We are not liable for delay or failure caused by an event beyond our reasonable control, including the failure of a bank, payment partner, telecommunications network or hosting provider, a power failure, a cyber-attack, an epidemic, a government order or a natural disaster. The Refund and Cancellation Policy continues to apply.
12. Intellectual property
12.1 The names Ticketway and Ticketway HQ, our logos and other trademarks, the app, the website and all content we create belong to Ticketway Entertainment Private Limited. You may use them only to use Ticketway for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not use our names or marks in any way that suggests that you are, or are connected with, Ticketway.
12.2 If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.
13. Messages
13.1 We send messages that are necessary for your account and Bookings (sign-in codes, confirmations, reminders, changes, cancellations and refunds) by push notification, SMS and WhatsApp. You can turn off push notifications in your phone's settings and stop WhatsApp messages by replying as the message says; SMS for these messages continues while you hold Tickets for Listings still to take place.
13.2 We send promotional messages only with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by replying as the message says or by writing to support@ticketway.in. We comply with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's rules on commercial communications.
14. Complaints and disputes
14.1 Complaints. Contact us from You → Help or as set out on the Grievance Redressal page. We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours, give you a complaint number and a copy of your complaint as recorded, and resolve it within one month.
14.2 Consumer rights. Nothing in these Terms affects your right to approach the National Consumer Helpline (1915) or to file a complaint before a Consumer Commission, including the Consumer Commission where you reside or work.
14.3 Law and courts. These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to clause 14.2, the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra have jurisdiction.
15. General
15.1 If any part of these Terms is held invalid, the rest continues in force. A failure or delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to an affiliate or to a buyer of our business if your rights under them are not reduced, and we will tell you before it takes effect. These Terms, the policies they refer to and the Host's terms on the Listing are the entire agreement between you and us about your use of Ticketway.
15.2 These Terms are in English. Any translation is for convenience, and the English version prevails.
