activity and court bookings.
v1.1 · updated 7 november 2026
Part A: Guests
1. Booking
1.1 Slots. You choose a day, a start time and the number of people. The price is per person. The Host sets the most people in one Booking.
1.2 Hourly bookings. You choose a day, a start time, a duration within the Host's shortest and longest booking (never more than 8 hours) and a unit. The price is per hour, and peak hours may cost more. Checkout shows the total.
1.3 Booking cut-off. Each Listing states when online booking closes. For slots: when the slot ends, 2 hours or 1 hour before it starts, or at 21:00 the evening before. For hourly bookings: at the start time, or 1 or 2 hours before.
1.4 Who may use an hourly booking. An hourly booking is for the unit, not a number of people. The person who booked brings their group and is responsible for every member of it. Hourly bookings cannot be sent to another person.
2. Admission and rescheduling
2.1 Slots. Your Ticket is valid from 30 minutes before the slot starts until the slot ends. Before then the door shows "Too early", and after it "Ended". A Ticket for another slot or day is not valid.
2.2 Hourly bookings. Your Ticket is valid from 10 minutes before your first hour until your last hour ends, and you may leave and re-enter during that time.
2.3 Late arrival and no-show. If you arrive after your Ticket stops being valid, or do not attend, you are not entitled to a refund, and the Host is not obliged to extend or reschedule your time, except as clause 2.4 allows.
2.4 Rescheduling. Where the Listing says a booking can be rescheduled, you may move your whole slot booking from your pass to another slot of the same activity that is open for booking, at the same price and with the same codes, until the time the Listing shows before your slot, and once or as often as the Listing allows. You cannot reschedule after anyone on the booking has come in, or once you no longer hold every Ticket on it. Rescheduling does not make a booking refundable.
2.5 Moves by the Host. The Host may move your booking to another slot of the same activity until your slot ends, and we will tell you. If the new time does not suit you, tell the Host or us before the new slot starts and you will be refunded in full.
3. Refunds
3.1 You cannot cancel a slot or an hourly booking yourself.
3.2 If the Host calls off a slot or a day, every Booking for it is refunded in full, even if already checked in.
3.3 If the Host closes during your hourly booking, every hour that had not started is refunded in full. The hour in progress counts as played. Your Ticket then remains valid until the end of the last hour not refunded.
3.4 The Host may refund a slot booking until the slot ends, and an hourly booking until its first hour starts, for Tickets nobody has come in on.
3.5 Refunds are paid to the original payment instrument as the Refund and Cancellation Policy states.
4. Safety and your responsibilities
4.1 Instructions. You must follow the Host's instructions and safety briefing and use the safety equipment provided, such as life jackets, helmets and harnesses.
4.2 Fitness. Before taking part, you must tell the Host of any medical condition, injury or pregnancy that may affect your safety, and you must not take part under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The Host may refuse to let you take part if it reasonably considers you unfit or unsafe to do so. You are not entitled to a refund if the refusal results from a condition or limit stated on the Listing (such as age, height, weight or swimming ability), a condition you did not disclose, or your conduct.
4.3 Persons under 18 must be booked by, and accompanied throughout by, a parent or lawful guardian, unless the Listing states otherwise, and must meet the Listing's age rule.
4.4 Inherent risks. Outdoor, water, adventure and sports activities carry risks that cannot be eliminated even when the activity is run with care. By taking part, you accept those inherent risks. This does not exclude any liability of the Host or any other person for negligence.
4.5 Equipment and premises. You must take reasonable care of the Host's equipment and premises. The Host may recover from you, directly, the cost of damage you cause deliberately or carelessly, beyond fair wear and tear.
4.6 Conditions. The Host decides whether conditions are safe. If it calls off or closes, clause 3 applies.
Part B: Organisers
5. Running slots and hourly bookings
5.1 Capacity. The Organiser shall set people per slot and units accurately, and never above the lawful or safe capacity of the activity, vessel or facility. People per slot cannot be reduced below the number already booked. Ticketway creates slots and hours for the following 28 days from the Organiser's schedule and keeps that period rolling forward.
5.2 Blocks. The Organiser may block hours that have no booking only for its own coaching, maintenance or private use without charge, or for a league or event whose places it sells through Ticketway. A blocked hour sold through any other channel is a breach of clause 7.3 of the Organiser Agreement where the Exclusive plan applies. Booked hours may be withdrawn only by calling them off with a full refund.
5.3 Calling off. Calling off a slot, a day or hours requires a reason that Guests will see, and every affected Guest is refunded under Part A, clause 3. Slots and hours that have started cannot be called off, except that hours not yet started may be cancelled when a facility closes during a booking.
5.4 Walk-ins may be sold as Offline Sales until a slot ends, from the same capacity, as a box office sale (the guest is let in at once) or as an offline sale (the Ticket is sent to the guest's phone and scanned later).
5.5 Safety. In addition to clause 17 and Schedule 6 of the Organiser Agreement, the Organiser shall, for every activity:
- (a) hold every registration and permission the activity requires, including any adventure tourism registration required by the State, registration and licences for vessels, and permissions for activities in water bodies, forests or protected areas;
- (b) engage qualified, trained instructors and staff in the numbers the activity requires, and brief every participant before the activity starts;
- (c) provide safety equipment that meets the applicable standards, and inspect and maintain it;
- (d) keep first aid and an emergency plan on site, and follow the Ministry of Tourism's adventure tourism guidelines where they apply;
- (e) call off a slot when conditions are unsafe; and
- (f) keep courts, turf, boats, rooms and other facilities safe and as described.
5.6 Organiser's own waivers. The Organiser may ask participants to sign its own risk acknowledgement at the venue. It shall not purport to exclude the Organiser's liability for its own negligence or for death or personal injury, and shall not vary these terms or any Guest's rights against Ticketway.
5.7 Settlement. Settlement is weekly, on Mondays, for slots and hourly bookings that have ended, under the Settlement Terms clause 5.2. The Organiser may refund a slot booking until the slot ends, and an hourly booking until its first hour starts; a slot or booking is settled only after it ends.
5.8 Rescheduling. The Organiser may let Guests move slot bookings under Part A, clause 2.4. The Owner or a manager may move any slot booking nobody has come in on to any slot of the same activity that has not ended, until the booking's own slot ends, and shall refund the Guest in full under Part A, clause 2.5 if the new time does not suit them. A moved booking keeps its price, Tickets and codes, and is settled with its new slot.
